This weekend in Baku, many drivers complained about the bouncing on their cars. The phenomenon of rebounding seemed more prevalent than ever and even affected teams that are usually less impacted. This abundant presence of car bouncing is largely due to the numerous bumps that have appeared in certain parts of the circuit.

Faced with this, some drivers, like Pierre Gasly, have reacted and suggested to the FIA to quickly find solutions to avoid negatively impacting their long-term health. Lewis Hamilton even stated that he had narrowly avoided accidents at high speed on multiple occasions due to these same bounces.

Max Verstappen, the winner of the race this Sunday, also reacted to these bumps. While his RB18 is not suffering from porpoising, the bumps on the Azerbaijani track still bothered the Dutchman. “I think it’s becoming a bit bumpy in some places, especially now with the new cars being so stiff and close to the ground,” says the reigning world champion.

In the face of this issue, Verstappen proposes a radical solution: resurfacing certain parts of the track. « The pit straight is really too bumpy, we really need to try and find some kind of line. So, it would be great if it could be resurfaced for next year. »

Despite these setbacks that apparently bothered him, Max Verstappen managed to take back 25 points from his main rival in the championship, Charles Leclerc.
