Absent since 2019 due to Covid-19, Formula 1 is returning to Canada and the Gilles Villeneuve track this weekend. Since the last edition three years ago, which saw Lewis Hamilton’s contested victory after Sebastian Vettel’s penalty, the dynamics have changed significantly.

And above all, since this year, a new phenomenon has appeared on the race cars: “porpoising”. The latter, very present in Baku, could also make a strong comeback this weekend on the Canadian track.

It is what Kevin Magnussen fears, who first declares his love for this unusual circuit. Montreal is a really cool place. It’s also a beautiful track, quite unique, it’s a bit like an urban circuit but also a hybrid, I really love it. It is very bumpy, so it will be tough in these new cars as they are very rigid. It will be a challenge, I’m sure, but a good challenge.

During the last 2019 Canadian Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen experienced a rather violent accident in the final chicane during the qualifying session. After several races without scoring any points for Haas, the objective seems clear: to put an end to this losing streak.
