Daniel Ricciardo insists that pressure makes him “feel alive”
Finishing 8th at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, ahead of his teammate, Daniel Ricciardo is still not up to the level of his teammate, nor his team. Despite all the pressure on the Australian's shoulders, it doesn't seem to affect him.
In danger in his stable, Daniel Ricciardo is not delivering the expected performances by his team, only in 13th place in the driver’s championship, and 35 points behind his teammate Lando Norris, the Australian seems to be continuing from last season. During a conference for a partner of McLaren F1 Team, however, he remains optimistic for the future. “I have never tried to protect myself from pressure. Of course, sometimes there are many things happening from all sides and all. And often you just want to be in a mode of ‘Ah! I just want to relax a little and cut out all the noise’. But a part of me definitely wouldn’t want it to be like that because it makes you feel alive and gives you the impression that something is worth fighting for,” he declared.
The Formula 1 heading to Montreal, it will be an opportunity for Ricciardo to continue his good momentum from Baku, where he qualified 12th to ultimately finish 8th, ahead of Norris.
