Alonso penalized at the conclusion of the Canadian Grand Prix
Fernando Alonso finished 7th in the Canadian Grand Prix, but was ultimately penalized after the race and is now classified as 9th.

Finished 2nd and arrived 7th, Fernando Alonso’s Grand Prix finally ends even lower following a 5-second penalty for changing trajectory.
In the final moments of the race, Fernando Alonso found himself engaged in a battle with Valtteri Bottas to defend his position. However, he changed his trajectory too many times in order to defend. Deemed dangerous by the FIA, Alonso’s sudden changes resulted in a penalty being applied to his final result after the race.
The Spanish driver finally finished 9th, giving way to Bottas and also finishing behind Zhou. He also receives a penalty point on his license.
