Another weekend without points for Haas in Montreal

Despite an excellent performance in qualifying on Saturday, both Haas cars finished outside the points in the Canadian Grand Prix. It is a losing streak for the American team that doesn't seem to want to stop.

The Canadian Grand Prix sounds like yet another disappointment for the Haas team. However, on Saturday, during the qualifying session, everything seemed to be going well. With the help of the rainy conditions, both Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher qualified on the third row, 5th and 6th, with the Dane ahead of his German teammate.

While Haas hasn’t scored since the Imola Grand Prix and Kevin Magnussen’s 9th place, just before the start this Sunday, Haas had a golden opportunity to score big points. But, like in the past five races, the outcome remains the same: the American team leaves a race weekend without any points scored.

The two drivers saw their chances of getting into the top 10 swept away prematurely. First, Kevin Magnussen, who, on the first lap and after contact with Lewis Hamilton at turn three, was forced to change the front wing. After losing more than 10 seconds in the pit stops on the 7th lap, the Danish driver lost all hope of scoring any points.

« Yes, it’s frustrating. It has been about four races now that we haven’t scored any points, so we need to try to break into the top 10 soon,” declares Magnussen, who also adds, with some disappointment, that he could have continued with his damaged front wing without any issues.

Mick Schumacher was not spared from bad luck either this Sunday. The German, who had achieved his best performance in qualifying the day before, had to stop his car in lap 20 due to an engine problem. « We were having a good race. The sensations in the car were very good, the pace was not bad. In terms of pace, yesterday and today were very good, which is a good thing, » says Michael Schumacher’s son.

The black series continues for Haas. The team has already stated that there will be no updates before Hungary and that this package brought to Budapest will be the last of the season.
