Mazepin files a complaint against Haas
Mazepin, after being fired by Haas F1 Team, is suing his former team for unpaid wages.

Nikita Mazepin, Haas driver in 2021, has been dismissed from his position before the start of the 2022 season, following the declaration of war between Russia and Ukraine.
Nikita Mazepin is the son of Dmitry Mazepin, the main shareholder of Uralkali, which sponsored the Haas team in 2021, allowing Dmitry to have his son race for the American team. Uralkali being a major Russian company, geopolitical tensions led to the contract between Haas and the Russian being terminated.
Without a sponsorship contract, Nikita Mazepin had no more support from Haas and was subsequently fired, in favor of Kevin Magnussen. However, it seems that, according to Nikita Mazepin’s statements, Haas team has not fully fulfilled its part of the contract. Indeed, certain salaries are allegedly unpaid.
« When the contract was terminated, Haas owed me unpaid wages. They still haven’t paid them. It seems to me that the employer should at least compensate for the salary until the time of termination and probably provide some sort of severance pay. […] What I’m saying is that the contractual obligations have not been fulfilled. »
As a result, Nikita Mazepin has decided to take legal action and is suing the Haas F1 Team. According to him, the lawsuit has already been filed, and his father should also take legal action for similar reasons. Dmitry Mazepin is expected to sue Haas through Uralkali, regarding the sponsorship termination that occurred outside the contractual restrictions. Whether on or off the track, the Mazepin’s twists and turns continue.
