Alex Albon scored three points with Williams this season. The FW44 is by far the worst car on the grid, so this performance by the Thai driver is quite impressive, even though it is difficult to know exactly how exceptional it is because his point of comparison seems to be at a lower level.

But since Miami, Albon has been unable to complete the top 10. While most of the cars have received major updates that are working, the Williams seems to be struggling to close the gap with the other teams.

In the face of this issue, Williams has already announced the introduction of a major package in the upcoming races, which could dramatically change the FW44. Alex Albon hopes, of course, that these enhancements will enable Williams to address the significant issues with the car.

(e) Everyone is evolving and we haven’t had any major improvements in a long time now. In terms of the car’s balance, we have weaknesses that are not clear enough to be corrected with what we currently have.

Albon finished 13th last weekend in Montreal. Another tough weekend for the Red Bull driver and the Grove team. « This complicates things, depending on the circuits, here in Montreal you have high-speed chicanes and very tight turns. It’s difficult for us to find a good compromise over one lap, so it gets worse. »

Struggling this season after a good momentum in 2020, Williams could introduce its new package at Silverstone next weekend.
