Red Bull terminated Juri Vips’ contract
After his racist and homophobic remarks, Juri Vips had his contract with Red Bull terminated by the Austrian team. The Estonian was suspended while an investigation was being conducted.

Juri Vips and Red Bull are finished. The Austrian team has announced that they have terminated the contract of their reserve driver following his racist and homophobic remarks. While playing a video game live with Liam Lawson, another driver under contract with Red Bull, the Estonian used the word “nigga,” which derogatorily defines a black person in English, before stating that pink is a “gay” color.

Juri Vips has been a member of the Red Bull young driver program since 2018. He finished fourth in F3 in 2019 and sixth in F2 last year. This season, Vips is currently seventh in the standings with his team Hitech. Hitech will keep Juri Vips until the end of the season.
