Since the beginning of the weekend, Max Verstappen had established himself as one of the favorites for victory at Silverstone. The Dutchman showed great determination during the first start by overtaking Carlos Sainz at the entrance of the first corner. Although he couldn’t replicate this feat during the second start, the Red Bull driver still managed to overtake Sainz on the 10th lap following a mistake by the Spaniard.

As he began to pull away at the front of the Grand Prix, Max Verstappen complained in the 12th lap of a problem with his single-seater. Initially suspecting a puncture, it was eventually revealed that the floor had been damaged. This greatly slowed him down but did not prevent him from finishing the race.

At the exit of turn number 5, there was a large piece of carbon that I couldn’t avoid. I had to roll over it and it damaged my floor. With these single-seaters, the floor is crucial for proper aerodynamic performance. It cost me a lot of time per lap.

Relegated to the mid-pack of the field, the reigning world champion had to tame a temperamental car in order to battle against Mick Schumacher’s Haas. The two men delivered a fierce duel in the final moments of the race, providing spectators with thrilling entertainment. It was the Red Bull driver who managed to hold onto his 7th position.

It was a difficult battle because I had to drive with a broken car. I was suffering a lot with the balance of the single-seater.

Fortunately for the Dutchman, his rival Charles Leclerc did not finish on the podium. As a result, Verstappen did not lose too many points at Silverstone. He currently holds a 34-point lead over his teammate Sergio Perez.
