The FIA summoned Red Bull and Sergio Perez after the qualifying session. The Mexican is accused of having left the track at turn 8 without a justifiable reason for his action during the second part of qualifying.
The FIA has found Sergio Perez guilty despite Red Bull’s defense claiming that the Mexican driver did not gain any advantage by cutting the corner. The FIA does not accuse Perez of gaining an advantage, but rather of leaving the track without valid reason.
As a result, Sergio Perez should never have made it to Q3, as his time wasn’t enough to surpass Pierre Gasly. Consequently, all of Sergio Perez’s Q3 times are invalidated, meaning he will start 13th on the grid for the sprint race.
