Seven years ago, Jules Bianchi passed away

It has been seven years since the rising French star, Jules Bianchi, left us after nine months in a coma following his horrific crash at Suzuka.

He is the driver who, due to a tragic twist of fate, more than ever motivated Formula 1 to focus on safety. Jules Bianchi, on October 5, 2014, lost control in the rain at Suzuka, skidding and crashing head-on into a crane assisting Adrian Sutil’s Sauber.

This head impact has definitively convinced the premier class to protect drivers’ Achilles’ heel. The Halo, heavily criticized for its aesthetics, has proven its effectiveness on numerous occasions: the Alonso-Leclerc collision (Spa 2018), Romain Grosjean’s crash in Bahrain two years ago, and recently, coming to the rescue of Guanyou Zhou at Silverstone.

As Sebastian Vettel had said, during his victory in Hungary in 2015: « You will always be in our hearts, and we know that, sooner or later, you would have been a part of (Ferrari). »

The world of motor racing will never forget the driver from Nice, and neither will the MotorsInside team. The spirit of Jules Bianchi, who knows, could help his protégé, Charles Leclerc, in his quest for his first world title.
