Haas aims for 6th place in the rankings
The current performances of Haas F1 make Günther Steiner hope for even better results for his team.

At the end of a nightmare 2021 season for Haas, the American team is not done yet in the first half of 2022. Currently 7th in the championship, the team has a total of 34 points and is positioned 17 points behind Alfa Romeo. Haas has scored points in the last two races, while Alfa Romeo struggles to cross the finish line. These satisfying results give hope for even better things for Günther Steiner, the director of the American team.
When a journalist interviewing him asked if the 7th place was the highest position his team could reach, he replied: “I can’t get carried away, but if we could stay in 7th place, or finish 6th, that would be good.”
« I think that beyond sixth place it will be very difficult, because the other teams are very good and they are a bit ahead. Hopefully, we can continue as we are doing, but obviously, we won’t have perfect race weekends like the last two with both cars scoring points. But we just need to keep working hard and maybe we can finish sixth. But first, we need to make sure we stay seventh.

« Of course, the motivation is very high within the team after two weekends like the ones we had in Silverstone and Austria.

« Our car is pretty good overall, and I think our weakest point remains high-speed tracks like those in Jeddah, Baku, Spa, and Monza. However, I am very confident that if we manage to work well, we will still be able to score points. I don’t know how many, but the reliability of the last two races was good, and I hope it will remain good for the next events before summer.
