Which tires for the French Grand Prix?
This weekend, the F1 drivers will be using a rather soft range of tires at the French Grand Prix. They will have to endure potential high temperatures, on a rather abrasive track.

On the tire side, drivers and teams now know what they will be dealing with. Pirelli will provide Hard, Medium, and Soft tires corresponding to the C2, C3, and C4 compounds. This is one step below the softest range from the Italian manufacturer.
Each of the ten teams will have at their disposal two sets of hard tires, three sets of medium tires, and four sets of soft tires.
This will also be the grand premiere of the new generation F1 cars on the Var circuit: their predecessors, with 13-inch tires, somewhat hindered the show, except for last year.
What will Paul Ricard have in store?
According to Pirelli, the abrasiveness of the track will be moderate, but the lateral forces will be quite demanding on the tires. The introduction of the 18-inch tires this year could, however, change the game. As a result, teams, barring any incidents, could opt for a one or even two-stop strategy.
