Robert Shwartzman on trial with Ferrari at Mugello
The reserve Ferrari driver participated in private tests for the Scuderia.

Last Thursday, at the Mugello International Circuit, Robert Shwartzman had the opportunity to drive the 2021 Ferrari in private tests. The former Formula 2 vice champion completed 130 laps behind the wheel of the SF-91, with race simulations and qualifying simulations.
The Russian could be called upon to participate in free practice sessions in Formula 1, replacing one of the two drivers for a one-hour session. It is worth noting that the driver will have to drive under an Israeli license due to the war in Ukraine.
Ferrari commented on this session in a press release. Today was very useful for Robert, as he needs to participate in at least two free practice sessions during Formula 1 World Championship events this season, in accordance with the regulations.
« It was also a valuable training for the other staff members of the Scuderia. The team working in Maranello today was composed of a mix of highly experienced mechanics and engineers, working alongside young individuals training in Maranello, who currently have limited track experience.

We will have to wait a little longer to see the young Russian behind the wheel of the F1-75, as Ferrari hasn’t planned to let him drive at the moment.
