Max Verstappen states that Red Bull is still in the hunter position
Despite Red Bull and Verstappen's lead in the championships, the reigning world champion believes that his team is still in a hunting position against Ferrari.

Red Bull has won 7 out of the first 11 races this season and has a 56 point lead over their rival Ferrari. However, the statistics in qualifying are quite different, as Ferrari has secured 7 out of the first 11 pole positions of the season. The performance on a quick lap of the F1-75 is much superior to that of the Red Bull, but in the race, the trend seems to be reversing. The numerous retirements and strategic errors of Ferrari should potentially be taken into account, as they may skew the overall calculation.
In the end, despite his lead in the championship, the leader Max Verstappen continues to believe that it is Red Bull that is chasing Ferrari, and not the other way around. He expressed his thoughts on the matter: « In general, at the beginning of the year, I felt like we were the ones chasing Ferrari. Then they had a few retirements and we took advantage of that. Of course, it all depends on the tracks, but I feel like they had more dominant weekends than ours. In the end, I still feel like I’m chasing them. »
“After Melbourne, I thought that if there was a possibility, we could have fought against them towards the end of the season, but everything happened very quickly, and it also shows that the trend can quickly reverse, so we will always have to be focused. We cannot make any mistakes.”
In this race for titles, Red Bull continues to make improvements. Verstappen says: “We must continue to improve the car and we must work constantly. The public says that Red Bull has always been good in the past at making improvements, we must show it again this year because without it, we would fall in the rankings by resting on our laurels. We must continue to show that we are in the game and that’s what we intend to do.”
