Standings after the French Grand Prix: Verstappen and Red Bull are pulling away
Winner in France, Max Verstappen extends his lead in the drivers' championship. Red Bull does the same in the constructors' standings.

Ferrari’s defeat at the French Grand Prix is a blow to the Italian team. With Charles Leclerc’s retirement and Carlos Sainz finishing fifth, the Maranello team now trails Red Bull by 82 points. Even Mercedes is closing in on the Reds with a deficit of 44 points. In fourth place, the strong performances of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon allow the French team to move ahead of McLaren.
Among the drivers, Charles Leclerc is facing a heavy setback. His third retirement of the season puts him 63 points behind Verstappen. The Monegasque driver is even being threatened by Sergio Pérez, who is just 7 points behind. As for the Mercedes team, Russell is now only one point behind Sainz, while Hamilton finds himself 16 points behind his teammate.
