An homage dress for Mercedes in the paddock
The Silver Arrows will be dressed in a very special way behind the scenes at Spa Francorchamps: Mercedes is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the AMG branch this weekend.

The last time Mercedes sported a dual color scheme was at Hockenheim in 2019, which celebrated the 125th anniversary of the first automobile race: the Paris-Rouen. The Silver Arrows then wore white on their noses.
This year, Mercedes’ AMG division is celebrating its 55th anniversary. To commemorate this, the German team has decorated Lewis Hamilton’s car. It is adorned with dark red at the front and a vintage number. The car was showcased in the circuit’s fan zone, but will retain its traditional livery during the race.
The last special livery, however, did not bring luck to Toto Wolff’s team in 2019: Bottas crashed and Lewis Hamilton finished in 9th place. Perhaps the red, even off the track, will be a bird of good omen!
