A confident Ocon with two overtakes in Belgium
The Formula 1 championship resumed this weekend and the French drivers were eagerly anticipated. In Belgium, they performed well, including Ocon who shone during this Grand Prix.

Ocon was in great form this weekend. Starting from the back of the grid after an engine change, he initially set the 5th fastest time in qualifying, which allowed him to start in 16th place on the starting grid. This first performance promised a good Grand Prix the next day.
And Ocon clearly demonstrated that he was in top form. During the Grand Prix, he was able to showcase some impressive skills. Bold overtakes and a great comeback allowed him to finish in 7th place behind Leclerc and Alonso.
Ocon achieved the best actions during this Grand Prix. Around the middle of the race, we were able to appreciate a first double overtaking on Gasly and Ricciardo to enter the top 10. Later towards the end of the Grand Prix, he repeated this maneuver by braking late during a turn. An action that allowed him to overtake Gasly and Vettel again.
The amazing overtaking move three-wide.
Confident for the end of the season
With new points scored by the French driver, both for himself and for Alpine, the end of the season looks promising for the team. The French driver, who finished 7th, was able to bring back valuable points in the fight for 4th place. The team managed to gain a 20-point lead over its rival McLaren in this Grand Prix.
After his good performance of the day, Ocon was satisfied and very jovial at the finish.
(I) I felt confident throughout the race and the car performed really well. Who knows what could have happened if we had started higher on the grid!
The driver is indeed excited to get back on the track for the Dutch Grand Prix next week.
We leave Spa satisfied, with the feeling of a job well done, as well as with a good harvest of points for the team, which allows us to strengthen our fourth position in the constructors’ championship. Bring on Zandvoort.
