Like Lewis Hamilton with the Queen of England, Max Verstappen has been awarded an honorary title by the Dutch government: he has been made an Officer of the Order of the Chamber of Nassau, this Thursday.

Lewis Hamilton was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II last year for his incredible career and what he has brought to the British people.

In the Netherlands, Max Verstappen is a national hero, dare I say a living legend. Just look at the real orange tides that surround the racetracks.

At almost 25 years old, the world champion has received an honor commensurate with his popularity in the Netherlands: the House of Nassau has awarded him the title of Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau. This is the third out of six honorary decorations in the country, with the highest being the Knight Grand Cross.

This title was awarded to him this Thursday, in honor of his sporting achievements, which make the pride of an entire nation: no other Dutchman had previously achieved it or been a world champion. Number 33 expressed his gratitude and pride: receiving such a distinction is unprecedented for such a young man.
