Esteban Ocon continues to bring points to his team. By finishing 9th at the Dutch Grand Prix, the Frenchman achieves a good performance despite disappointing qualifications.

He starts the weekend with two 9th places in free practice 1 and 2. Saturday, on the other hand, was not really his day. He starts with free practice 3 in 14th position, above the 1’13” mark. The qualifying session continues his Saturday with a 12th place.

During the Grand Prix, he gets off to a strong start with a very good beginning that allows him to overtake 2 drivers, namely Gasly and Stroll. He enters the top 10 and won’t encounter too many difficulties in staying there, as he takes hold of the 9th position quite early on.

Ocon not satisfied with his race.

The French driver is still disappointed with this result. He would have liked to do better and believes that there was an opportunity to score more points during this Grand Prix.

There were more possible things to do today, we could have scored more points.

The driver also believed that the strategy used was not the right one and that they will make adjustments for the next Grand Prix.

« It’s true that scoring points with both cars today is a solid achievement, but overall we didn’t have a good strategy. We stopped too late, allowed time to pass on the cars ahead, and that’s what ultimately cost us a few places. But well, it’s not a fantastic race today.

The French will be able to try to do better starting next week during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
