Hamilton and Bottas penalized in Monza
Hamilton and Bottas will be penalized in Monza for changing parts on their cars. The two former teammates will have to start the race from the back of the grid.

Since the collision between Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in Belgium, the power unit that was damaged is not performing satisfactorily. Therefore, it will not be used during qualifying or the race.
The team will therefore install a new power unit in the car. The fourth one this season. Hamilton will exceed the limit of engine components used, which is 3 engines for the season. The seven-time world champion will start from the back of the grid and will have to have a great race to climb back up the standings. Mercedes has decided to make the change during this Grand Prix, which has a circuit conducive to overtaking. The Monza circuit has 11 turns and long straight lines where it will be possible to overtake a large number of drivers.
Bottas should also be penalized, but less severely than Hamilton. The Finn will start from the back of the grid as well, but can hope for a 15-place penalty. However, unless he pulls off a remarkable performance in qualifying, placing him in the top 4 with his Alfa Romeo, the driver should start just ahead of Hamilton.
He should change several parts on his car, namely the engine, the turbo, and also an MGU-H (motor generator unit).
Another driver may also have to change parts on his car. This is the Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, who might have to change his power unit, which appears to be worn out.
