Italian Grand Prix: Ocon disappointing
Esteban Ocon, like Alpine, was very disappointing during the Italian Grand Prix. He had an underwhelming performance, finishing only 11th. Worse, he did not score any points for his team. Alonso was forced to retire.

Esteban Ocon was very disappointing during this Grand Prix. While the driver had finished in the points in the last 5 races, the Frenchman finished this time in 11th position, just outside the points.
A weekend that didn’t smile at the French driver, but also at the team, which saw its other driver, Fernando Alonso, retire due to a technical problem. However, the weekend started off well with interesting performances during the practice sessions. The driver was consistently placed in the top 10 every time.
The weekend became complicated starting from the qualifications. The Alpine driver only achieved the 11th best performance, thus depriving him of Q3. He had incurred a penalty for an engine parts change and therefore had to start from the 14th position.
During the Grand Prix, the French driver didn’t really show much and was stuck in the middle of the pack. He was trapped in the peloton without being able to truly attack.
With the intervention of the Safety Car in the last laps, the driver couldn’t fight until the end to try to recover some positions. With the remaining laps, who knows what Esteban Ocon could have achieved.
« It was a delicate race today and it’s obviously disappointing to finish outside of the points. The car was performing well, we had a good pace in the race, but we weren’t able to take advantage of it because of the traffic. We’ll reassess the situation and maximize everything for the remaining races, starting with Singapore.

Esteban Ocon will be able to take a breather for 3 weeks before the Singapore Grand Prix. A little break that will do the drivers a lot of good before the final sprint begins.
