Max Verstappen’s victory at Monza has brought the Red Bull driver even closer to a new world championship title. Finishing ahead of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari in Lombardy, his comfortable lead in the championship allows him to consider another triumph in the upcoming Grand Prix on the Marina Bay circuit in Singapore.

In order for such a scenario to occur, here are the different possible situations:

Scenario 1

He wins with the fastest lap, Charles Leclerc finishes no better than eighth, and Sergio Pérez finishes fourth.

Scenario 2

He wins without the fastest lap, Charles Leclerc finishes no better than ninth with or without the fastest lap, and Sergio Pérez no better than fourth.

Note that in order to be crowned at the end of the next race, Max Verstappen will need to have a minimum lead of 138 points over his nearest competitor. This takes into account the 5 remaining races (5×26 points), as well as the eight points for the winner of the Sprint race in Brazil.

Finally, in case of a tie in points at the end of the season, the number of wins will determine the champion. Knowing already that with eleven wins this season, Max Verstappen can no longer be caught up in this statistic, it is no longer a question of who will be crowned but rather when the Dutchman will be crowned.
