Nyck de Vries is getting ready for Singapore
With Alex Albon, who had surgery for appendicitis during the Italian Grand Prix weekend and the complications he is facing to recover, it is possible that we could see Nyck de Vries replace the Thai driver. The Dutch driver will be presenting himself at the Williams headquarters for training.
Nyck de Vries could be back for a second Grand Prix. The Dutch driver is ready for a potential new replacement of Albon.
The Thai man who had his appendix removed had complications in his recovery. He had to be intubated to breathe before being able to leave the hospital.
Alexander Albon said he felt good after leaving the hospital but later admitted that it will be difficult to recover in time for Singapore.
This could allow Nyck de Vries to get back on track in his place and gain experience for the upcoming seasons.
The Dutch driver is soon going to the Williams headquarters to prepare in case Albon is unable to participate.
Several possibilities for 2023
With his very impressive performance during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, Nyck de Vries could potentially secure a seat in Formula 1 for 2023.
“The driver has multiple contract offers for the next season. He managed to advance to Q2 during the qualifications and finished in 9th position to secure his first points.”
The constructors are vying for him. Williams, Red Bull, and Alpine could very well take him into their team. Williams has already made a contract offer, but the Dutchman is waiting to see what the other two teams will propose.
Red Bull could take advantage of Gasly’s move to Alpine to give him a seat at AlphaTauri. But if the transaction were to fail, Alpine could be the one to bring him back.
Meanwhile, De Vries will be heading to Budapest to conduct tests with Alpine. Good performances from him could open the doors to Formula 1 for him.
