Zhou stays with Alfa Romeo in 2023
The rookie Guanyu Zhou will stay at Alfa Romeo for the 2023 season.

If his arrival in Formula 1 had caused some teeth to grind, Zhou Guanyu managed to silence his critics by finishing his first Grand Prix in Bahrain in the points. Despite an unreliable and underperforming car, the Chinese driver did not make a single mistake this season and can even boast of being on par with his more experienced teammate, Valtteri Bottas, in the qualifying session.
Zhou Guanyu’s biggest flaw was being less opportunistic and simply slower than his garage neighbor when the Alfa Romeo could easily fight for points. This slower start to the season has resulted in a 40-point gap between the two drivers on Frédéric Vasseur’s team.
“It is in a short video on Alfa Romeo’s social media platforms that Zhou Guanyu spoke about the renewal of his contract.”
(I’m) I’m super excited to announce that I will be staying with Alfa Romeo for the 2023 season. So far, I’ve had a great season as a rookie, enjoying every moment of it, and I’m really looking forward to what the future holds for me.
Therefore, officially, there are only three seats available in F1 for the 2023 season. Those are Mick Schumacher’s at Haas, Nicholas Latifi’s at Williams, and Fernando Alonso’s at Alpine.
