Hamilton believes that the championship should be decided in the final Grand Prix
While the championship seems to be playing out in advance with Verstappen having a 116-point lead over Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton believes that it is not good for the sport if the championship is decided several races before the end.

In sports in general, it is always good to see a championship being decided in the final days.
Formula 1 is also concerned by this. During the 2021 season, we were able to witness a magnificent drama during the last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi. Nothing was decided until the end of the race, which thrilled fans of both drivers involved.
When a championship is already won, fans are less concerned and watch without animosity and emotions. That’s what is happening this year, seeing that the result is already a foregone conclusion.
The show was supposed to live up to expectations with the duel between Ferrari and Red Bull. However, the Italian team failed to keep up with the pace set by Red Bull, making blatant mistakes. This is reflected in the outcome of the recent races, all won by Verstappen and Red Bull.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton sympathizes with the fans and believes the championship is already decided. According to him, this is not good for the sport in general.
« I sympathize with the fans, because for everyone, and even for us last year, until the last Grand Prix, it was intense for everyone.
« It’s never great when the season ends early. Even though I have finished early in places like Mexico. For you as an individual, it’s great, but for the sport itself, it’s not spectacular. »
« I am truly grateful to have had the 2008 season until the last 17 seconds, and obviously last year, pretty much the same thing. »
The British driver won 5 out of his 7 titles during the Grand Prix races that preceded the end of the season.
