Singapore Grand Prix – Charles Leclerc: (e) I pushed throughout the entire race
Poleman on Saturday, Charles Leclerc finishes another Grand Prix on Sunday without the winner's trophy.

Starting in pole position, Charles Leclerc had a complicated start which saw him lose his valuable position to Sergio Perez in the Red Bull. In wet track conditions, the Monegasque had a lot of difficulties in staying close to the Mexican. Despite numerous virtual and non-virtual safety cars, Charles Leclerc never seemed to be able to find a way past Perez. Once again this season, Charles Leclerc was unable to convert his pole position into a victory.
I pushed throughout the race but the bad start directly compromised our race. The race was very physically demanding but with a good night’s sleep, I will be ready again for the next Grand Prix in Japan.
However, the race commissioners have Sergio Perez in their sights for creating too much of a gap between him and the safety car before the race restart. Depending on the penalty imposed on the Red Bull driver, the Monegasque could very well secure a fourth victory this season.
At the time this article is written, Charles Leclerc, second in the drivers’ standings, only has a narrow two-point lead over Sergio Perez (237 versus 235).
