Tsunoda in turn penalized on the grid in Austin
Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda has been penalized with a 5-place grid penalty for the start of the United States Grand Prix due to a gearbox change on his AlphaTauri.

It’s the penalty ball in Austin! After the known advance penalties of Pérez and Leclerc in particular, the two Alpine drivers have also received penalties in return for changing engine components on their respective cars.
But the list has grown since Yuki Tsunoda is now being penalized! Indeed, the Japanese driver was forced to change his gearbox before the start of this Grand Prix. As a result, the AlphaTauri driver receives the traditional 5-place grid penalty.

Qualified only in 15th position, this penalty will make him start dead last in 19th position, Esteban Ocon being forced to start from the pit lane.
With such a distant position on the grid and an AlphaTauri not necessarily comfortable on the American circuit, it will be difficult for Tsunoda to secure a points finish this Sunday.
The start of the USA Grand Prix will be given at 9:00 PM, French time.
