Mexican Grand Prix – Predictions and presentation
Back to back this weekend in Formula 1 with the Mexican Grand Prix at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. If there are no longer any stakes regarding the two world titles, there are still many things to play for. Presentation of the Grand Prix and predictions from the editorial team.

Mexico is hosting the Formula 1 race this weekend for the 22nd time as part of the World Championship. Over the years, this stage has become an essential part of the end of the season.
The ultimate motor circuit
Stretching over 4,304 kilometers, the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit consists of 17 corners and is run clockwise like the majority of circuits on the calendar. The unique feature of this circuit is its impressive elevation, as it is situated at an altitude of 2,285 meters, making life difficult for both drivers and mechanics.
Its impressive straight lines make it an excellent motor circuit where reliability is also a major component. Overtaking and spectacle are usually on the agenda, especially at the circuit’s first corner and in the famous Stadium section, which adds to the charm of this track.
Pirelli’s choices
The Italian tire manufacturer has opted for its mid-range for the Mexican Grand Prix, ranging from the C2 tire for the hard compound to the C4 for the soft compound. This is a logical choice considering the 72 laps to be covered, the particularly bumpy track surface, and the specific characteristics of the circuit.
It’s race week, as @F1 heads to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for the #MexicoGP, where the high altitude of the venue adds to the technical challenge of the layout 🇲🇽

Runner-up position, Alpine/McLaren, 8th place among Constructors… Multiple stakes in Mexico!
If, as we stated, there is no longer any suspense regarding the allocation of titles awarded to Max Verstappen and Red Bull, a fierce battle is announced for the honorable positions!
Separated by only two points and constantly exchanging positions in several Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Pérez will engage in a fierce battle to finish as runner-up in the world championship, behind the untouchable Verstappen.
It will be good to observe if the Dutchman will help his Mexican teammate to obtain this position, one of the last goals to achieve for Red Bull, who has never achieved a double in the drivers’ standings in its history.

At the Constructors’, that’s where the biggest fight is happening as Mercedes is rapidly closing in on Ferrari and is now only 51 points behind the Prancing Horse, which is struggling in this final part of the championship. Behind them, the battle continues between Alpine and McLaren, with only 6 points separating the two teams for the 4th place.
Finally, if Williams is destined to finish last in the 2022 world championship, the battle in the midfield is more open than ever with the resurgence of Aston Martin, who was still in 9th place in the championship not long ago, but has now climbed to 7th place, just 2 points behind Alfa Romeo.
Haas, despite a much less impressive momentum, can still aim for this 6th place as the American team is only 16 points behind the Clover brand, but they will especially have to be wary of AlphaTauri, who is just two small points behind them in the standings.
The different matches are shaping up to be very close!
The predictions of the editorial team: Pérez or Verstappen for the win.
No big surprises or huge upsets are expected in this Grand Prix. On a circuit where the engine is the major weapon, we are convinced that one of the two Red Bulls will come out on top. However, two factions stand out: one predicts the unstoppable Verstappen to secure victory, which would be a record-breaking 14th win in a season. The other foresees a resounding triumph for Pérez on home soil, with a crowd rallying behind him.
For the rest, some of us anticipate a pole position for Ferrari, where the Reds dominate the session, while the Mercedes are a bit behind on a track that doesn’t really play to their advantage on paper.
But one element could change the game: the rain expected this weekend! And under these conditions, the Silver Arrows could prove to be faster, as well as Ocon and Alonso’s Alpines, who particularly enjoy these conditions and on a track that suits the Alpine better than the McLaren.
