Nyck de Vries will drive the Mercedes during FP1 in Mexico
The reserve driver of the Mercedes team will participate in his fourth free practice session of the season in Mexico.

Nyck de Vries will return to the track this weekend for the first free practice session of the Mexican Grand Prix. The future AlphaTauri driver will replace George Russell in the car for what will be his fourth official free practice session of the year.
Earlier this season, the Dutchman had participated in the first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix with Williams, in that of the French Grand Prix, already with Mercedes replacing Lewis Hamilton, and in that of the Italian Grand Prix with Aston Martin.
During the weekend in Monza, de Vries filled in for Alexander Albon, who was absent due to appendicitis, by participating in the qualifying and race in the Williams cockpit. With a very strong performance, finishing in ninth place on Sunday, the 2021 Formula E champion then flew to Austria the following week to sign his contract with AlphaTauri for next season.
