Aston Martin and the environment: the team obtains the FIA 3-star certification
The environmental impact is an important factor for Formula 1, which is accelerating its ecological transition for a cleaner future. The 2026 engine regulations are one of the many examples that demonstrate the FIA's environmental awareness. Certification is now in place to highlight and encourage the progress made by teams in maintaining the highest level of environmental commitments.

Since its return to Formula 1 under the leadership of Laurence Stroll, Aston Martin has continuously demonstrated its commitment to a more responsible future. Throughout the year 2021, the English team has worked considerably to establish new programs aimed at reducing the environmental and societal impact of the organization. These programs include reducing the amount of single-use plastic, improved waste management, and the implementation of an electric car program for all staff members.
The three-star environmental accreditation from the FIA thus confirms the ecological approach of the English team. It also rewards the construction of Aston Martin’s new factory. The latter should include numerous top-notch environmental systems and processes.
This environmental accreditation from the FIA delights Aston Martin’s authorities who are dedicated to continuing the efforts already undertaken.
Mike Clark, the director of the Aston Martin F1 team, declares as follows: “I am delighted that we have received our three-star environmental certification from the FIA. The award demonstrates our commitment to providing solutions to sustainability challenges through our employees, logistics, and working practices.”
We recognize that we are only at the beginning of our journey – there is still much more that we can accomplish as we continue to focus on implementing sustainable systems across the team and increasing environmental awareness.
Felipe Calderón, President of the FIA Environment and Sustainable Development Commission, added: « We are delighted that Aston Martin F1 Team has achieved a three-star environmental certification from the FIA. The framework is in place to assist all stakeholders in achieving higher standards in their sustainable development programs and to demonstrate their commitment to maintaining and improving these practices in the future. »
Currently, only Alpine has not communicated about the subject of this FIA certification.
