Lando Norris talked to other teams before extending his contract with McLaren
Lando Norris extended his contract with McLaren until 2025 in February. However, the British driver had been approached by various teams following his excellent 2021 season. He has decided to extend his contract with the British outfit.

Interviewed on Thursday before the Mexican Grand Prix by the German media outlet Auto Motor und Sport, he confirmed having been in discussions with Red Bull. « It is more accurate to say that I was coming to the end of my contract, and it wasn’t as if we (Red Bull and I) were talking extensively,” said Norris.

Lando Norris believes he could be happier at McLaren if he had a more competitive car. He prefers the safety of a long-term contract with his current team over a short-term contract full of promises.
