8 points on Saturday for the sprint race, 25 points on Sunday for the Grand Prix, and one point for the fastest lap: the weekend couldn’t have been more beautiful for George Russell. After shedding several tears for his first Formula 1 victory, the British driver was particularly proud of staying on track during the race in Brazil.

What an incredible feeling. Thank you so much to the entire team for making this possible. It has been a roller coaster of emotions this season, even this race. Lewis was super fast and when I saw the safety car, I thought, “Jesus, this is going to be tough”.

Commenting on his first victory, the Mercedes driver declared to be speechless. On the inner lap, memories come flooding back, starting with my mother and father in go-karting, my coach… Those who gave me the opportunity to join Mercedes, Toto [Wolff]… The list is endless.
