Lewis Hamilton proud of Mercedes’ one-two finish at Brazilian Grand Prix
First win for George Russell and second place for Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes finally clinches the double after a tumultuous season to say the least.

Elected driver of the day in Brazil, Lewis Hamilton showed coolness and determination after his collision with Max Verstappen at the beginning of the race. He managed to finish in second place, just behind his teammate George Russell, securing Mercedes’ first one-two finish of the season.
First of all, congratulations to George [Russell]. He drove exceptionally well and had a very good qualifying session yesterday. He truly deserves it. And I am very proud of my team, everyone at the factory and here at the circuit. It’s an incredible result, we have worked very hard this year to achieve a victory, so everyone deserves it fully. Thank you very much.
The British driver also thanked the audience for their support after his pit stop, which boosted him to catch up. « Thank you to everyone, I had one of the best weeks of my life. You accepted me [as an honorary citizen] and gave me a warm welcome. I now want to come back here, also for vacations in the future. »
