A new regulation will be introduced in 2026 in Formula 1. This will bring significant transformations to the power units, which will evolve towards cleaner sources of energy.

An ambitious project.

This new engine regulation is attracting new teams that would like to compete in the premier discipline. Audi is the first team to have confirmed its arrival for the 2026 season. The billionaire from Hong Kong, Calvin Lo, is considering entering Formula 1 during this season. The development of the sport in Asia is an opportunity to seize for this businessman.

« For any new team, Asia, or anywhere outside of Europe, makes the pie bigger. At least from my point of view, Asia demands more F1. Just by watching television, there is a 30 or 40% increase in subscribers just for F1. So it is certain, Asia is a huge market. The arrival of different players on the F1 grid is always better, right? », he declared on the Planet F1 microphone.

Perpetuating the Schumacher myth

Calvin Lo would like to buy a team to facilitate his entry into the championship. However, he is also willing to build his own Formula 1 team. A huge fan of Michael Schumacher, he started following the sport in 2000. Therefore, he would like to have the son of the seven-time world champion drive for his team in the future.

« A boy who grew up watching Schumacher and whose son would drive for me. It’s like heaven!” he said once again.
