The performances of young drivers in the junior formulas allow them to progress to higher categories. This is the case for Zane Maloney, the top rookie of the Formula 3 championship this season. He will be able to move up to a Formula 1 team in 2023.

An impressive evolution.

The young Barbadian driver participated in his first season in Formula 3 this season with the Trident team. His start to the season was timid with few notable results. However, he secured a pole position at Imola in only his second qualifying session. A true achievement for a novice who does not compete in a top-tier structure.

His second half of the season was on a whole other level. The Trident driver fought at the front in the final races. He won 3 victories and finished the championship in second place, just a few points behind the experienced Victor Martins who raced for Art Grand Prix.

He will join the Red Bull Young Driver Program starting in 2023 and will also be one of the reserve drivers for AlphaTauri and Red Bull for the upcoming season.

I am delighted to announce that I will be part of the Red Bull Racing junior team and will be a reserve driver in 2023. I am grateful for this opportunity and support, and I am excited to start the season.
