Lewis Hamilton’s contract to be dealt with over the winter break

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have a fruitful partnership: the British driver and the German constructor have dominated Formula 1 for nearly 10 years. After a challenging 2022 season where the W13 was not performing well, Lewis Hamilton is still determined to chase an 8th title. His thirst for victory makes his contract extension with the German team very likely.

The seven-time British world champion plans to stay in Formula 1 for a few more seasons. He keeps asserting that he wants to continue evolving in this sport that is dear to him. The renewal of his contract should therefore be a formality.

However, Toto Wolff would like to seriously discuss this matter with Lewis Hamilton during the off-season. The British driver’s contract ends at the end of the 2023 season.

The 2022 season was particularly difficult for Lewis Hamilton, who finished it behind his teammate without winning any Grand Prix races.
