Romain Grosjean believes Fred Vasseur can succeed at Ferrari
Former F1 driver Romain Grosjean believes Frédéric Vasseur has what it takes to succeed at the helm of Scuderia Ferrari.

Recently appointed Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, Frédéric Vasseur will be one of the many attractions in Formula 1 starting next season. The Frenchman’s main mission will be to bring titles back to Maranello, as the team with the Prancing Horse has been empty-handed for many years now (last constructors’ title won in 2008, editor’s note).
Former ART Grand Prix driver in GP2 Asia, a team founded by Frédéric Vasseur, Romain Grosjean can attest to the managerial abilities of the former boss of Alfa Romeo F1. For the former Haas F1 driver, Vasseur is the right man for the job at Ferrari.
« Leading Ferrari represents a very important challenge. But knowing Fred, I am convinced that he can do it »,” Grosjean declared to the Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport.
Several observers have pointed out that the choice of Vasseur would be a favor towards Charles Leclerc, as the two men crossed paths in 2018 at Alfa Romeo F1, during the Monégasque driver’s first season in the pinnacle of motorsport. Even though he doesn’t believe in this information, Grosjean doesn’t deny the excellent relationship that exists between Vasseur and Leclerc.
Fred and Charles maintain excellent relationships, which is important for a good working relationship. But he also knows Carlos (Sainz) very well. In 2023, Ferrari will once again fight for the title.
That’s all the best we wish for the Maranello team and their new French boss.
