McLaren and Alpine are ready to assist Andretti and Cadillac in their arrival in Formula 1
Andretti wants to make his entry into Formula 1 by the 2025 season and has just partnered with Cadillac to access the premier category. While the Formula 1 authorities have not yet clearly expressed their position on the progress of this application, some teams from the current grid are ready to assist the American team so that it can join them on the grid as early as 2025.

The candidacy of a new team for entry into Formula 1 had been met with great enthusiasm by fans of the sport and some members of the paddock. However, the situation was much more contrasting on the side of the Formula 1 authorities. They even stated several times in 2022 that the arrival of a new team was not a priority for the sport.
An additional step for Andretti and Cadillac
The American team is led by the son of the only American Formula 1 world champion, Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti, who oversees the top level of motorsport with IMSA and Indycar. The latter is close to Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren, and knows that he can count on the assistance of this influential figure in the paddock to make his arrival in Formula 1. He had notably helped the American businessman make his entry into Indycar with McLaren a few years ago.
« Zak has been a great friend and ally. He gives me advice and is there to help me. We support each other. I have been a great help to him when he came to IndyCar. It’s a friendship that works both ways. » Declares Michael Andretti to Forbes.
Alpine is also willing to assist the American team in accessing Formula 1 in the coming seasons. With the support of two constructors (McLaren and Alpine), Cadillac and Andretti can rely on strong entities for their bid for 2025.
« Zak Brown and Alpine are two very good allies.
Zak wants to do everything he can to help us achieve it, just like Alpine’s team leader concluded in an interview with Forbes.
