Mario Andretti is confident about Mick Schumacher’s future
After two difficult seasons on many aspects, Mick Schumacher will not be present on the starting grid in 2023 in Formula 1. The 1976 world champion is convinced that he will find a seat in the future as a regular driver.

After two seasons in F1 with Haas, Mick Schumacher was able to score his first points in 2022, following a first year on a car that kept him at the back of the field. However, due to costly accidents and results that the team deemed disappointing, he was not retained for 2023.
A view that Mario Andretti does not share, as he sees the German returning to the track in the future. “I am sure that someone will take him back,” says the 1976 world champion.
« Talents like that don’t disappear. I think Mick improved tremendously last season. Without a doubt. It really showed in his performance.
Schumacher is the son of the seven-time world champion. Carrying this name has likely put additional pressure on Mick Schumacher, but Andretti sees in him a worthy successor to his father.
The name Schumacher is an asset in every way. There is no doubt that he wore it with great pride.
Schumacher has managed to find refuge at Mercedes as a reserve driver. Toto Wolff has said he is ready to help him find a seat on the grid for the upcoming seasons.
