Carlos Sainz on track for the second test session at Fiorano
After Robert Shwartzmann, Ferrari continues its relentless training tests with the entry on the track of Carlos Sainz this Wednesday.

The Spanish driver, who will begin his third season with the Italian team next March, is currently driving the SF21. Tomorrow, it will be Charles Leclerc’s turn to complete this three-day training on the asphalt.
Sainz has to deal with very cold temperatures at Maranello, making it difficult to heat up the tires. Ferrari must therefore use, as they did yesterday and as they will do tomorrow, the Pirelli demonstration tires, the ones dedicated to filming days or testing like the ones of these days.
Due to these wet and cold conditions, Shwartzmann was only able to complete a few laps on wet tires yesterday morning. The afternoon program was then slowed down by new showers, but it didn’t stop the Russian-Israeli driver from completing 52 additional laps.
These tests are a pre-season habit and constitute an important exercise for the drivers, engineers, and mechanics to get back into the swing of things. In addition to their respective track days, the two regular drivers continue their work on the simulator to virtually familiarize themselves with the characteristics of the 675 project. The Scuderia has not won the championship since 2007, and that is what they will try to achieve in 2023 with their new car, which will be unveiled on February 14th.
