Vasseur talks about his arrival in the “temple” of motorsport
The Frenchman, the new team director of the Scuderia, answered the media's questions this Thursday, for the first time since his arrival. He spoke about his objectives for what he considers to be the biggest challenge of his career.

After five years at the helm of Alfa Romeo, Vasseur recently took a new turn while he was having coffee at home when he received the call from Ferrari. Then everything fell into place and he quickly got to work after a handover with Binotto. “I appreciated that there was a relay when I came to Maranello a few weeks ago to meet the team. I appreciated it, it was a nice gesture on his part towards me,” says Vasseur.
The French feels like he has entered a “temple” of motorsports and considers it the biggest challenge of his career. In the past, I have faced complex challenges, with probably the most difficult being my debut in Formula Renault. If I look back, it was very complicated. But at Ferrari, you are more exposed, the expectations are very high, but that is part of the nature and history of this team. We are one of the top three teams, we have very clear goals for the world championships, both for the driver and the constructor. We must have this kind of motivation and clear objectives, we must not be shy about it, we want to win, everyone wants to see Ferrari win world titles and that will be my goal.
The team’s ambitions are clear: both championships. « That is the objective. The goal of Benedetto, John, and over a thousand people. When there is a challenge like this, when you have the resources and tools that we have, when you have Charles and Carlos in the car, you can only have one goal, which is to win. It’s the same for Mercedes and Red Bull, but in the end, there will only be one winner, that’s sport. We cannot have any other goal. »
Meet in Bahrein from March 3rd to 5th to follow Frédéric Vasseur’s first Grand Prix at the helm of Scuderia Ferrari.
