Romain Grosjean does not rule out a return to Formula 1
The Andretti-Cadillac alliance aims to create a new Formula 1 team. If the project becomes a reality, Romain Grosjean, currently a driver for Andretti Autosport in the IndyCar, could find a place on the grid again.

On January 5th, Andretti announced its partnership with the automotive manufacturer General Motors through Cadillac. They’re aiming to become the 11th team in the paddock.
The president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, is indeed about to launch a call for applications to evaluate the files of potential future entrants in Formula 1. For now, Andretti is the only team to have applied.
The current F1 teams, on the other hand, are showing reluctance and believe that 10 teams are enough. So Andretti is waiting for a response, but nothing is certain since this possible arrival will only happen for the 2025-2026 season.
On his part, Romain Grosjean, interviewed by The Race, says he is interested. “I think a lot about Formula 1, one thing I have learned is to never say never,” he declared before adding, “I think this is excellent news for Andretti. They are working really hard to achieve this goal, so I really hope it will happen.”
In 2025, Frenchman will be 40 years old, so it is unlikely to see him back as a pilot. However, his experience in F1 can still bring a lot to the team, and Grosjean himself is ready to be part of the project as an advisor.
