Who are the sponsors of Haas?

Since the 1970s, sponsors on a Formula 1 car have played a crucial role. While we see many brands on the bodywork of our favorite drivers, knowing who these brands are is not always clear.

The VF-23 is the first single-seater of 2023 to unveil its colors. It is in a very understated way that the Gene Haas team has revealed its new creation. Haas has indeed chosen to only publish a few photos of the digital model of their race car. Through the pictures showing the car from different angles, we catch a glimpse of Haas’ new colors. While white and red are still present (these two colors have accompanied Haas since its inception), black is now the dominant color. The big change between the VF-22 and the VF-23 is the appearance of a giant sponsor on the engine cover.

Several sponsors have left the team due to Mick Schumacher’s departure. The Swiss-German driver had notably brought along the German company 1&1. Let’s take a look at the sponsors featured on the Haas 2023:

MoneyGram

The logo featuring a white arrow inside a red circle belongs to the brand MoneyGram. An American funds transfer company. In addition to being present on the engine cover, front wing, halo, and nose, MoneyGram is also featured in the name of the American team. In fact, it was announced a few weeks ago that the American brand would become the title sponsor of the Haas F1 Team. An American-American partnership that should allow MoneyGram to gain global recognition thanks to the Formula 1’s strong media exposure.

Palm Angels

Created by Francesco Ragazzi in 2015, Palm Angels quickly made its mark in the fashion landscape thanks to its American streetwear inspirations and Italian luxury. The designer had previously released a photography book titled Palm Angels a year before. The brand has often described itself as being inspired by art, music, and photography. With this partnership with Haas, Palm Angels now appears to be inspired by the world of sports, particularly motorsports. The logo of the Italian brand is present on the sidepods and headrests of the drivers.

Hantec Markets

MoneyGram is not the only brand resonating with the word “money” on the livery of the VF-23. In fact, Hantec Markets’ logo displayed on the nose of the race car belongs to a financial transaction company. It was founded in 1990 in Hong Kong. With the advent of the internet and numerous specialized websites, financial speculation has never been more accessible. So, it is not surprising to see such companies desiring to be showcased on such a large scale like Formula 1.

Alpinestars

Partner since Haas’ arrival in Formula 1, it’s not surprising to see the Alpinestars logo on the VF-23 again. This Italian brand, created in 1963, is well-known among motorsport fans. Offering protection for both motorcycle and car drivers, Alpinestars has been present in the world of F1 and Moto GP for several years now.

Tricorp

Tricorp is a workwear brand created in 1998. The brand’s logo is featured on the sidepods and at the top of the halo.

OpenSea

OpenSea is probably one of the few remaining companies based on the trade of NFTs in the premier category of motor sports. The market for non-fungible tokens and cryptocurrencies has experienced a significant decline in 2022, which has deprived many companies of marketing operations. The logo of the American company can be found on the headrest.

The rabbit

The keenest eyes will have spotted the presence of a small white rabbit on the VF-23 fireplace. It first appeared in 2018 with the VF-18 and has not left the American team since. The rabbit could simply symbolize speed, but it could also be a nod to the team’s name in Dutch. In Nyck de Vries’ native language, Haas means hare.
