Zak Brown congratulates Lando Norris for never making a piloting mistake
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, admires the talent of his driver, Lando Norris, and praises his racing technique.

Lando Norris will start his fifth season with McLaren. In an interview for ESPN television channel, Brown talks about the qualities of his young prodigy.
If he is one of the most promising drivers of his generation, Lando Norris is currently the leader of his team. Zak Brown says he is very satisfied with his performances and goes as far as comparing him to franchise players in the NBA or NFL who are the icons of their clubs.
Lando is a natural driver. If we put all the Formula 1 drivers in a buggy for a race, he would be in the lead because he has this kind of natural talent. He declares himself as a total star.
Is Norris one of the best on the grid? Brown’s answer is obviously « evident ».
« I believe he is as good as anyone on the grid, and I felt it from the very first day when I put him up against Fernando in the 24 Hours of Daytona, foreign car, foreign track. » Does he justify himself? « You see that natural talent. You have some drivers who have a separate discipline, and you throw them into a unique situation, and they don’t adapt as quickly. »
Brown particularly admires the running technique of the young British athlete. He is incredibly fast. He always does well in qualifications. He can do lap after lap without any problem. He rarely makes mistakes – and when he does, they are very small. He missed a turn, he locked a brake, but you never see him crash into the barriers. His racing technique is really strong now.
In 2023, Norris is still waiting for his first victory while his compatriot George Russell won his first Grand Prix in Brazil last season. Brown sees this as an additional source of motivation since both drivers have been racing together since their junior careers. « He wants to win races, I’m sure he knows he can beat George. He’s going to be worried that the people he raced with don’t get too many victories before he starts getting his own. »
