In an interview with Auto, Motor und Sport, the director of Red Bull discussed various topics, ranging from the new RB19 to the partnership with Ford, and even addressed the so-called offer from Ferrari.

Flattered by the call from Ferrari.

Horner does not indicate the date of this offer, but everything suggests that he received this call during the winter while Ferrari was in the midst of a recruitment campaign to replace Binotto. Being deeply loyal to Red Bull, it was out of the question for the English sports director to leave. « You know that I have been here from the very beginning. I feel very responsible for the team. It’s a wonderful group of people I work with. And I don’t think I’ve ever been tempted to leave. I feel loyalty towards Red Bull and of course towards the people here. When you work with such a great team, why would you want to be anywhere else? »

He still admits that this call didn’t leave him indifferent. « It’s very flattering to be wanted by Ferrari, but it’s a great team and I’m sure it will be very competitive. »

Binotto will not come to Red Bull.

Mattia Binotto is now on the market. While Toto Wolff has already announced that he will not join Mercedes, his future will also not be with Red Bull. « I don’t see what role he could play. I mean, obviously, it was challenging for him last year with Ferrari because he took a big step forward. But maybe there are other opportunities for him, further down the grid. »
