The latest Sauber’s race car, the C43, in the colors of Alfa Romeo, was unveiled today from Zurich, Switzerland.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Alessandro Alunni Bravi Group made his first official appearance before the media during the presentation of the team’s new race car.

“Bringing a car to life is a long process that involves all the departments of a racing team, so it is a moment of great pride to see it unveiled today,” declares Bravi.

We have chosen to do it in front of our fans, close to home, because the launch of a new car is not only the moment to state your goals for the upcoming season: it is also the moment to pay tribute to the people who have supported you, whether in the stands, in front of the television, or at the factory, and to express our gratitude for their passion and faith in our project.

Our new car is the result of months of work, but today is only the beginning of a journey: we must continue to work hard, with humility and dedication, to bring performance on the track. Everyone in the team is committed to this goal and we are convinced that we will reap the rewards of our work.

No goals in 2023, but still some objectives.

Alfa Romeo is one of the teams that, in 2022, have been able to take advantage of the new regulations to climb up the hierarchy. Going from ninth place in 2021 to sixth among constructors last year, despite a ghostly second half of the season due to stubborn reliability issues.

When asked what goal the team can set for this season, he declares that he does not want to give one, although in the end there is indeed one. We do not want to set goals, it is difficult before a season to know where we will be, and where our rivals will be. We want to continue our growth and progress in every area to have better progression, that’s the goal.

The technical director of Alfa Romeo F1, Jan Monchaux, who designed this C43, applauds the work carried out by the team during the winter and hopes to see a car that has improved in all areas.

I am very proud of what we have accomplished in recent months, as designing a new car always represents a considerable effort for the team. This car is an evolution of last year’s one, reflecting the new regulations and introducing major changes in areas where we found necessary improvements.

(I) I hope it will be faster than last year’s car, that’s what matters most, and that it will also be more reliable: we have made a lot of efforts in that direction.

Now it’s time to hit the tracks and see how this car performs. I am excited to get back into racing and I am confident that we will soon achieve much more.
