AlphaTauri presents an AT04 adorned in red
AlphaTauri is the fifth team on the grid to unveil its car for the 2023 season.

Like its big sister Red Bull, it was in New York that the younger sister of the energy drink brand revealed the race car that will accompany it during the 2023 season. The AT04 was presented to us in the form of a trailer worthy of an American blockbuster. Revealing the design of the race car, its transportation by plane to New York, before the drivers finally stood in front of it, all set to a very rhythmic music. AlphaTauri, being a clothing brand, also showcased its latest collection next to the race car. It was a simple and understated presentation, yet effective, just like the AlphaTauri clothing.
The big novelty on this AT04 is the appearance of the color red on the bodywork. Indeed, the Polish brand PKN Orlen, having left Alfa Romeo, has found refuge with Franz Tost’s team. The red of the petroleum refining specialist is therefore visible on the halo, the floor, the rear wing, and is also highlighted on the rims. Dark blue and white are still part of it. However, it can be observed that white is not as present as in the last liveries seen from the side. However, like previous seasons, the AlphaTauri is relatively weak in terms of sponsors on the chassis.
Red is not the only new thing for the Faenza team this season. Indeed, after 3 and a half seasons consecutively spent at AlphaTauri, the Normand Pierre Gasly has left his seat to Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman had impressed the paddock last year in 2022 by bringing the Williams into the points at Monza. Yuki Tsunoda will therefore have to put aside his lapses in concentration to establish himself as the leader of the team formerly known as Toro Rosso.
A particularly important season for AlphaTauri, who must break free from the midfield. After two successful seasons in 2020 and 2021, which saw the Italian team finish in 7th and 6th place respectively, they had their third worst season in terms of results in the hybrid era in 2022.
The photos provided by AlphaTauri are currently only 3D renderings, but they seem to partially correspond to the model shown behind the drivers in the video. The real AT04 will be followed during its testing next week.
