Carlos Sainz optimistic with Ferrari
Carlos Sainz believes that Ferrari will be able to compete with Red Bull on the straights and hopes to achieve more victories.

Although the performances achieved during pre-season testing should be taken with a grain of salt, Red Bull seems already well positioned to continue leading the way. Sergio Perez set the fastest time on the last day, while Max Verstappen dominated almost every session.
Ferrari, who will be one of the direct competitors of the Dutch team, has no intention of being left behind. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished the Friday session in the top 5, with the Monegasque driver even setting the fastest time in Saturday morning’s session. When asked about these tests, Sainz expressed confidence in Ferrari’s ability to compete on an equal, or almost equal, footing with Red Bull on the straightaways.
« This is part of the evolution of our cars, trying to have less drag and trying to get closer to Red Bull on the straight lines. I hope we can be closer. Will we be faster or the same as them on the straight lines? We don’t know. »
Overall, the Spanish driver is satisfied with his team’s tests and his understanding of the car.
(I) “I manage to test many more things, to better understand the car and the direction I want it to take in the future. [I have been able to] come back and try different things, which is something I was not able to do very well last year and it compromised my first half of the season a bit. This time, I think I have a much clearer understanding,” he asserts.
On a personal level, his goal now is to win more races in order to compete for the top of the rankings.
« Try to earn more, try to be up there. Give Ferrari more victories, more good moments, and give those at the factory happy days. »
