Aston Martin faster than Ferrari in race pace
After a race simulation with equal weapons during the tests, Fernando Alonso reveals to be faster than Ferrari.

Aston Martin achieved encouraging performances during pre-season testing in Bahrain. While the team caused the first red flag of the year due to a breakdown on Felipe Dugrovich’s car, the rest of the sessions went smoothly. The AMR23 is built on a solid foundation, and Fernando Alonso is very pleased with it. The Spaniard eventually set the second-best time on the first day and the third-best time on the second day.
In a video posted on the Twitter account of the British team, the Spanish world champion states that during the last day of testing, in the afternoon, we did a race simulation, and we put fuel for 57 laps. Ferrari was doing the same program as us (with the same tires), and we were faster.
Ferrari is far from having missed its tests. The new SF-23 looks really powerful. Its weakness may still be tire wear, which gave Scuderia a hard time last year.
At the end of the three days, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz place fourth and fifth in the ranking of the best times of these tests, while Fernando Alonso is ninth.
